Care Scheme

Parish Help Scheme

The Parish Help Scheme offers daytime support to those in need. We are happy to help with anything which requires taking them out such as attending hospital or doctor appointments. We can also collect things like shopping or prescriptions. On the spiritual side, we also have several parishioners who regularly take to Mass.

If you are aware of parishioners who would value some help in ways the Scheme can offer, or if you would like to offer your services to help fellow parishioners, please see the latest newsletter for contact details. Alternatively contact the Parish Priest, Fr Dan Mason.

Welcome Group

Welcome Group

The Welcome Group are the people who are there to greet people and hand out the Mass and hymn books before Mass, and to collect the books in again and tidy up afterwards. There are currently approximately thirty-five members on the rota, which means being on duty about every six to eight weeks depending on which Mass you go to.

We are always very grateful to have new helpers for any of the Masses. It's important for worshippers to receive a friendly greeting as they arrive and to have the books to enable them to participate fully in the service, so please consider joining us.

Readers

Readers

The parish has a number of parishioners who are called to the lay Ministry of Reader at Sunday Mass.

As well as proclaiming the Word, the regular Sunday Readers also take on other duties such as announcing the intentions of the Prayer of the Faithful; some also read on weekday mornings and at special services such as the Parish Carol Service.

Eucharistic Ministers

Eucharistic Ministers

Each week 18 Ministers assist Fr Dan in presenting the body and blood of Christ at Mass and also visit the sick and housebound to offer communion. Fr Dan is always willing to accept more candidates for this important parish function. Should any parishioner be interested in joining us, please contact either Fr Dan Mason or David Mullen. David can also be contacted on 01277 653666

Altar Servers

Altar Servers

Altar servers have carried out an important ministry since the earliest times of the Church, assisting the priest at the Altar. We are privileged to have a large number of dedicated servers in our parish, who carry out this ministry at Sunday Mass each week, and at all important Masses and services throughout the year.
